More than ever, Southern California has become the location of choice for many artists to migrate to. This is because Los Angeles is the hometown of top entertainment reps from not only record labels, but film and tv production companies. That gives new artists more opportunities to break through and get heard with licensing deals. For this reason, the 2005 Hot 100 unsigned artists list is even more competetive than last year. Those involved with determining the results of this year’s poll included Music Connection staff members, journalists, club bookers, publicists and other industry pros.
